 About UsThe office of Dr. Charles Downey is conveniently located in Richardson, off the President George Bush Freeway. Our patients come to us from Richardson, Plano, Garland, Addison and North Dallas. Richardson Ob/Gyn routinely provides check ups to detect health problems early. Dr. Charles Downey, is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Downey is trained in laparoscopic surgery specific to gynecology and obstetrics. Recognizing that the best healthcare comes from an informed consumer, Richardson ObGyn tries to spend sufficient time with each patient to provide comprehensive information regarding the woman’s health concern. Related to pregnancy and maternity, Dr. Downey addresses a wide variety of issues related to getting pregnant, carrying to term and labor and delivery. This can include care of high-risk pregnancy, obstetrics, infertility treatment, menstrual disorders, hormone replacement therapy, routine evaluations and abnormal pap smear evaluation. Dr. Downey at Richardson ObGyn provides the following services:
Providing routine gynecologic care to women of all ages, including post-menopausal women. This can include counseling and providing prescriptions for birth control. Dr. Downey is proficient in laparoscopic gynecologic surgery, including surgery for abnormal pap smears. Many procedures are done via the laparoscope, examples include: pelvic pain examination and treatment or removal of ovarian cysts or abnormalities. Richardson ObGyn seeks to inform the patient of the benefits and risks of the various treatment and procedure options. This includes what to expect before, during, and after treatment. When patients need the care of other specialists, Dr. Downey will refer the patient to the appropriate sub-specialist for orthopedics, internal medicine and cardiology.
